Featuring a built-in solar power system, this physical mosquito control product addresses the pain points of unstable power supply and rampant mosquitoes during rainy seasons in Vietnamese villages. Vietnam has a tropical monsoon climate with high temperatures and heavy rainfall. Rice paddies and ponds are widespread, creating ideal breeding grounds for mosquitoes. Mosquito-borne diseases such as dengue fever have long troubled rural residents. Many remote villages lack sufficient power grid coverage, making conventional plug-in mosquito killers impractical. Chemical mosquito coils and insect sprays carry risks of pollution and harm to humans and livestock, and mosquitoes can develop resistance after prolonged use. The Qualitell MK-C1 mosquito killer is equipped with a top-mounted solar panel that captures and stores solar energy during the day. At night, UV light lures mosquitoes, which are then eliminated by a high-voltage grid. No external mains power is required, making it perfectly suited for off-grid outdoor scenarios in Vietnamese countryside.
The MK-C1 unit adopts a waterproof and dustproof structure to withstand the humid conditions of Vietnam’s rainy season. It can be pole-mounted beside rice fields, in farmyards and at public spaces at village entrances. Using purely physical electric shock to kill mosquitoes, it releases no chemical agents and will not contaminate farmland or water sources, protecting both residents’ health and agricultural ecology. Farmers in pilot villages reported that the device activates automatically at night, features simple installation and requires little maintenance. After a period of use, mosquito bites around yards and farmland have been significantly reduced.
